Network Tools

Wireshark is a Free and Portable Network Protocol Analyzer. It can be used to capture and examine network traffic (packet data) from a live running network. Cool options such as display filters are available to help isolate the network traffic sections you wish to monitor. If you have ever needed to find out exactly what information is being sent to and from your computer and where this information is being sent to or coming from on a network or over the internet, you need Wireshark.

SqlDbx is a Stand Alone Free SQL Manager or SQL Frontend created by ACS Technologies, inc. A database management tool (SQL IDE) that provides a means to manage your SQL databases to run queries, execute scripts and browse database objects. A portable SQL Database Editor that requires no installation. It is entirely free for non-commercial use.

HeidiSQL offers a Portable Freeware SQL Database Manager. A very useful Remote SQL Software tool for users who want to remotely manage their MySQL Databases from any PC. Browse databases, manage tables, run queries, execute scripts, etc. Pretty much everything you can do with serverside SQL managers like phpMyAdmin, can be done remotely and portably with HeidiSQL.

DNSDataView is a Free DNS Lookup tool. This data checking software can be used to check the IP address DNS records (MX, NS, A, SOA) of domains or Lookup Domain Host. It provides users with an ability to specify a DNS server and then the retrieved DNS records can be exported to a text, xml, html or csv file.

RouterPassView is a Portable Router Password Recovery Tool created by NirSoft. It works by attempting to find your Login Password and or Wireless Keys from your backup router configuration file.  Note that you must have a backup configuration file for RouterPassView to read, and not every router configuration file is supported, however I have found that most of the popular older Routers are.

WirelessKeyView is a Free portable tool created by NirSoft that can be used to recover lost Network Keys. It recovers all wireless network keys (WEP/WPA) that have been stored in your PC via the Wireless Zero Configuration service of Windows XP or the WLAN AutoConfig service of Windows Vista. You can either copy individual keys to the clipboard or export all keys to a text, xml or html file.

VB Ping is a Free Portable Ping tool that enables users to quickly and easily Ping an IP Address while logging the Ping results. VB Ping can be run in either manual mode or automatic mode and can log Date, IP Address, Data Sent, Return Status, Address (dec), Round Trip Time, Data Packet Size, Data Returned, and Pointers.  Number of pings can be set between 1-10000 and a timer or delay of between 5-120 seconds can be determined.

BluetoothLogView is a Free and Portable Bluetooth Monitoring Tool created by NirSoft. It can be used to monitor nearby Bluetooth activity (Find Bluetooth Devices Near You). Once running, it keeps a log of each Bluetooth device it detects. Whenever a Bluetooth device arrives or leaves Bluetooth detection range, a new log line is created containing the Devices Name, Description, Address, Event Time, Event Type and Time, Major and Minor Device Type, and Manufacturer.

BluetoothView is a Free portable application that can be used to detect and view any Bluetooth activity surrounding you. If a Bluetooth device is detected, BluetooothView will display the name, address, device type, and detection times. The cookie string and the host or site that sent or received each cookie is displayed in the top section. When you select a cookie string from the upper panel, the cookie string is parsed and displayed as name value format in the bottom section.

NetRouteView can display destination, mask, gateway, interface IP address, metric value, type, protocol, age, interface name, MAC address and more. Additional features include the ability to add new routes, and modify or delete existing routes.

MACAddressView is a Portable and Free MAC Address Tool. It can be used to lookup MAC addresses and find MAC address information for network adapters. Information such as company details (company name, address, and country) by the MAC address of the product. It utilizes its own internal MAC addresses database to display the information about the MAC address.
